Description

Another image from the 8" Newt.
This time lucky imaging the famous Ring Nebula.
Used my cheap OSC 290MC.

Did not try to highlight the little faint galaxy IC 1296 or any of the faint outer shells, with just 90 mins (10 sec x 540 subs) of integration time

Standard processing with BXT, SPCC, GHS, StarX to create the star layer.
Curve and mask work, unsharp mask, NXT, and rescreen in the star layer.

Thanks for looking
Clear Skies,
Pete

The Ring Nebula (also catalogued as Messier 57, M57 and NGC 6720) is a planetary nebula in the northern constellation of Lyra. Such a nebula is formed when a star, during the last stages of its evolution before becoming a white dwarf, expels a vast luminous envelope of ionized gas into the surrounding interstellar space. Title: A luckier version

Description: Tossed out half the subs to see if the detail improved
Of course in re-processing it I probably did not do everything identically....
